Memphis was one of the oldest and most important cities in ancient Egypt, located at the entrance to the Nile River Valley near the Giza plateau.capital of Egypt, was originally founded by the first king, Menes, around 3100 BC. It was believed that Menes built the city with white mudbrick walls, earning it the name 'Inbw-hedj' or 'White Walls'. Over time, the city of Memphis shifted eastwards due to the changing course of the Nile River. The name ' Memphis ' is said to come from the Egyptian word 'Mennefer', which refers to the nearby pyramid complex of Pepy I.

 Drive to Dahshur:

Dahshur, a village located approximately 40 kilometers southwest of Cairo, is the southernmost point of the pyramid field that starts at Giza. Excavations in Dahshur have uncovered the remains of seven pyramids, along with extensive tomb complexes built for queens and nobles from Memphis until the 13th Dynasty in the Middle Kingdom. the village is also home to two well-preserved early pyramids. These pyramids, the Bent Pyramid and the Red Pyramid , were both constructed during the reign of King Sneferu (2613-2589 BC), the founder of the 4th Dynasty. They serve as significant examples of the architectural progress that eventually led to the construction of the Great Pyramid and its counterparts in Giza.

The Bent Pyramid *  was built by King Sneferu, the first ruler of Dynasty 4. It is known as "bent" because of its unusual shape caused by a change in angle during construction. The pyramid started at a 55-degree angle but was changed to 43 degrees because the weight of the blocks made it unstable. After this, the king's builders created another pyramid nearby, called the Red Pyramid .

The Red Pyramid   is the tallest pyramid in Dahshur.

It gets its name from the reddish color of its stones.Originally, the pyramid was a bright white made of Tura limestone, located south of present-day Cairo. All pyramids were covered with this white limestone, which was taken for other uses in medieval times.
